How I can help
My work specializes in complex PTSD and neurodivergence based on a combination of professional training and lived experience. I offer individual, relationship, and family counselling for anyone struggling to be understood by others, or feeling like their life is not working out the way it should.
Adults often arrive at a diagnosis of ADHD or autism after years of difficult experiences, and coming to terms with this new way of self-understanding can bring a mixture of emotions. Neurodivergence affects many areas of life, and navigating how each part impacts you can be an overwhelming experience. You deserve a compassionate and supportive place to rest, reflect, and to understand yourself and move towards a life where you are appreciated and supported through:
managing persistent sense of shame, perfectionism, or self-criticism
improving maintaining meaningful boundaries and handling rejection sensitivity
coping with social anxiety and developing new strategies for effective communication

I help people process and find freedom from past trauma, such as child abuse or emotional neglect, and navigate stressful current situations, such as life transitions or relationship conflict. Trauma affects many aspects of a person’s life, including social communication, cognitive function, emotional regulation, and physical health. My work is informed by training in effective and gentle modalities including Internal Family Systems, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Brainspotting, and I can help improve your daily functioning through:
gain clarity of negative emotions and reduce their intensity
improving emotional regulation techniques to reduce the intensity of emotional flashbacks and dissociative episodes
reduce persistent feelings of shame, hopelessness, isolation, low self-worth, and the lack of trust and create new patterns of relating to others

My therapeutic approach
Emotionally Focused
Understanding and gaining clarity of our emotional responses fosters self-acceptance and awareness. Emotionally Focused Therapy is guided by Attachment principles, acknowledging the necessity of responsive and engaging human relationships in shaping our present. Through understanding the impact of past relationships on the present, counselling helps to foster acceptance of disowned experiences and directs us towards shaping new ways of relating to self and others.
Somatic and Neuroscience Guided
Our nervous system is embedded in every part of the body, and working with sensations and movement can improve how we relate with our bodies and ourselves. Somatic work for those who experience alexithymia, can help improve inner awareness and may provide a liberating experience.
Person-Centred, Trauma-Informed, Culturally Aware
My work is informed by trauma-informed therapeutic modalities including Internal Family Systems, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Brainspotting. My therapeutic approach is non-pathologizing, anti-oppressive, and feminist. I respect the unique lived experiences of each person, and I believe in providing a safe and sincerely nonjudgmental space can help each client make sense of their experiences to the fullest.
Integrated
I incorporate traditional therapeutic interventions and other modalities into my work. When appropriate I help clients engage in reflective practice, build skills, assess strengths. I integrate Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Brainspotting, Narrative Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing, Social Rhythm Therapy, as well as many others into my work.
Still not sure?
Healing and growth can often feel like a vulnerable process. It takes courage to connect with yourself on a deep level, to find meaning, to connect with others after traumatic experiences. I work with those who want to be more present in their life, who want to understand themselves more deeply, and those who want to move towards self-acceptance and their own authentic way of being. In counselling I create a safe, comforting space for you to nurture your authentic self, to reflect on everything that matters and is meaningful to you.
